The previous post of the front room truly showed how red this kitchen really was.  In dim light it wasn't bad, but in direct sunlight it was WAY too red.  Rather than spend more time and money priming and repainting a completely different color we chose to tone down the red with a darker, warmer red. You can compare the two colors above the microwave.

Just a taste of what Austin dealt with while we worked. At this point there were exposed carpet tac boards and loose nails on all levels of the house.  He was secluded to the dining room and required to wear shoes at all times...

Front Room

Front room - the front and family rooms on the main level are the only rooms that we did not paint.  The color is okay (not what I would've picked, but I don't mind it) and they did a good job painting up to the vaulted ceiling.

 Austin was fantastic while we worked so hard on the house.  He loves the stairs.  Everyday he'd take his food over and sit on the bottom step to eat.

Piano and couch moved in.  I'm still trying to find a nice rug to put in the front room so I don't have to put felt pads on the piano and coffee table (which is still in the garage).  I can deal with the coral table cloth from our wedding until then, I suppose.

Bedroom #4

 This is the 4th bedroom that we are using as our office

 I think it must have been a playroom before.  The walls had been colored on with permanent markers!

The room with one green wall

Master bedroom... this poor room had never been painted - in 15 years! We changed that...

 Walk-in closet

 Mom starting to paint the one "Scottish Isle" green wall.  (baseboards and ceiling were painted prior)

 The other walls are a gray-brown color, I love it!

Why the one green wall?? (note the new carpet)

 Because I bought us this cute, modern bedspread!  I love the splashes of green with the black and white and wanted to make those stand out a bit.  I think the green wall really makes the bed pop. 

Our bathroom still needs some love - we'll get to it eventually.

 New carpet!  Austin LOVES the new carpet.  To anything soft that he touches he now says, "Ahh, nice carpet!"
