The previous post of the front room truly showed how red this kitchen really was. In dim light it wasn't bad, but in direct sunlight it was WAY too red. Rather than spend more time and money priming and repainting a completely different color we chose to tone down the red with a darker, warmer red. You can compare the two colors above the microwave.
Just a taste of what Austin dealt with while we worked. At this point there were exposed carpet tac boards and loose nails on all levels of the house. He was secluded to the dining room and required to wear shoes at all times...
3 days of putting in the new floor
Tada! All moved in - cleared countertops and new appliances

Yay, Amy! I love looking at all your before and after posts. Makes me want to go out and buy a house to do it all myself! Hopefully someday :) And your little family is just darling!
can you do a whole blog post on how to re-texture stuff... what kind of paint you liked to use(and why) because i'm about to tackle my parents house before the holidays hit and although i'm awesome with picking out magazine pics i like, that's about as far as my talent gets :) thanks amy!
btw- the house looks amazing!!
